“Parang na-in love lang siya sa three-point shot ngayon.”
That was how Meralco Bolts star Gary David characterized import Terrence Williams’ performance in their 95-94 loss against Barako Bull on Sunday to open the PLDT Home Telpad Governors’ Cup.
Williams shot just 4-of-20 from beyond the arc, helping doom the Bolts against a Barako Bull team that instead pound the ball into its own import Eric Wise.
Veteran wingman Sunday Salvacion noted that Williams’ performance was a far cry from his showing in practice.
“Tingin ko naging excited lang siya masyado. Gustong magpakita agad ng maganda,” said Salvacion.
“Hindi naman siya ganyan maglaro sa ensayo.”
Williams refused to do interviews after the game, but Meralco coach Ryan Gregorio said the import had apologized to the team for his shot selection.
According to David, there’s is no problem when it comes to talking to Williams.
“Ang maganda naman sa kanya, nakikinig siya,” said David. “Simula nung dumating siya rito, hindi namin siya nakitaan ng attitude na sinasabi nila.”
